What does Ava do?
- Calls the agency's fresh leads within minutes and works aged leads that were never fully worked.
- Calls under the agency's name.
- Confirms the lead's state, coverage need and age band.
- Handles common objections, such as “I already have insurance.”
- Books the appointment on the right agent's calendar.
- Answers callbacks 24 hours a day, and can reschedule on the same call.
- Live-transfers a lead who wants to talk now to one of the agency's reps.
- Texts, if the agency turns on Ava Texting: replies and booking in the thread, confirmations, reminders, and texts after no-shows and missed calls.
What doesn't Ava do?
- She doesn't sell insurance: no prices, no quotes, no applications, no binding.
- She doesn't give advice. The licensed conversation belongs to the agent.
- She doesn't decide whom to call. The agency loads its own leads and certifies their consent.
- She doesn't call outside Polca's calling limits, which the agency can tighten but not loosen.
How does a call with Ava go?
- She calls. Ava calls the lead under the agency's name, within Polca's calling hours.
- She confirms the basics. The lead's state, what they want covered and their age band.
- She handles the first objection. For example “I already have insurance” or “I'm busy right now.”
- She offers a time. A specific time with one of the agency's agents, and books it on that agent's calendar.
- The agent gets the notes. The call is transcribed and summarized, and recorded where the agency's recording setting and the lead's state allow it.
If the lead wants to talk right away, Ava transfers the call to a rep; the appointment she booked stays on the calendar as a backup. If the lead calls back later, she answers, any hour.
Is Ava a real person?
No. Ava is an AI. Polca's Terms describe AI calls as “automated, machine generated conversations conducted under your Agency's name using your configuration,” and Polca may update the underlying models and voices (Terms s. 7). Under the TCPA an AI voice is an artificial voice (FCC 24-17).
Polca does not promise that Ava will say she is automated. Where a law requires an AI disclosure on your calls, configuring that is your agency's job (state rules).
What consent does an agency need before Ava calls?
Prior express written consent from each lead to telemarketing calls using an artificial or prerecorded voice from the agency. Before Ava calls a list, the agency certifies that consent for that list, and AI dialing does not start until the agency owner completes a separate confirmation (Calling & AI Voice policy).
Polca gives your agency calling controls; your agency stays responsible for its own compliance. On every call, AI or human, Polca checks your agency's opt-out list at dial time, adds opt-outs it detects on calls (words like “stop”), calls only between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the lead's local time and never on Sundays, caps attempts per lead, and gives you a kill switch for all outbound dialing. Polca does not scrub your lists against the National or state Do Not Call registries. AI voice calls need prior express written consent, and your agency certifies that consent for each list before Ava calls it. Polca gives no legal advice and no compliance guarantee. The full rules are in the Calling & AI Voice policy.
Where do the appointments go?
Onto the right agent's calendar. If the agency connects GoHighLevel (optional), appointments land on the GoHighLevel calendar and call notes and dispositions are written back to the contact (GoHighLevel guide).
What has Ava produced?
Per agent on Ava, each month (as of November 2026): 46 appointments booked by Ava, 5 clients signed by the agent (about 11% of booked appointments), and $9,856 in annual premium (AP) written, about $118,000 a year. That is about $10 of AP written for every $1 spent on Ava (9.9×, measured against what the agency pays for Ava). Top agents are on pace for $134,000 to $137,000 a year of AP from Ava-booked appointments.
Ava booked the appointment; the agent signed the client. A signed client counts when the agent signed them within 60 days of the appointment Ava booked; AP counts everything signed. Source: production records of the agency Polca was built in. Individual results vary. Hear real booked calls.
New AI seats come with the 30-in-30 guarantee: if Ava doesn't book 30 appointments in the first 30 days, she keeps working at no charge until she does, under the conditions on that page.
